VALERIE RITTER
VIOLIN AND PIANO
Valerie Ritter teaches violin and piano. She studied piano with various teachers at Eastman School of Music Prep and Hochstein Music School in Rochester, NY. Later in college she studied with Mina Somekawa at the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana. On violin, she studied with various teachers in VT, ME, Bloomington, Indiana, and Urbana, Illinois. She did a pedagogical internship for violin with Susan Jarvis of New England Conservatory and has taken Suzuki Teacher Training Workshops at U. of Hartford and Gordon College. She is a certified Suzuki method instructor.
She has played in various orchestras, including the Fall River Philharmonic and the Wheaton College Orchestra. She has been a Suzuki violin and piano teacher for the last eight years, having founded the Bridgewater Suzuki Violin School. This Suzuki program was active in the South Metro community, playing at children’s museums, ethnic festivals and senior centers. Currently she has both violin and piano students in Bolton.
PERSONAL
Craig Macrae and Valerie Ritter are married—to each other. They share a strong interest in music education. They live in Bolton, Massachusetts and have two sons, Max and Isaac.
